Limestone is intentionally focusing on the inclusion of substance use in our mental health strategy. This is a recognition of the increase in the combination of mental health and substance use challenges/concerns among youth, which have been amplified by COVID-19.

The Mental Health and Substance Use Strategy is the result of an extensive consultation process that sought input from various stakeholders, including students, families, community partners, and school board staff. 

In addition to the Strategy, the board develops an annual Mental Health and Substance Use Action Plan, which outlines Limestone’s mental health and substance use initiatives for the year.
